The €3,300 buy in PartyPoker World Poker Tour Prague main event saw 567 entries in the Czech capital over the weekend creating a total prize pool of just over €1.6 million.

The last man standing at the King’s Casino was 26-yeaar-old Marcin Wydrowski who was the first Polish player ever to win a major WPT event.

He took down €325,000 ($423,957) for his victory as well as a $25,500 seat at the WPT World Championship at Bellagio next year and said after his triumph, “I didn’t even look at the prize money for the other places, I only wanted first. Winning a major title was always my goal – I am so happy it is hard to understand how I feel at the moment.”

Wydrowksi took a 3:1 chip lead into the heads up after he busted German Bodo Sbrzesny in third place. Sbrzesny had started the final table with just over a quarter of all the chips in play.

Less than an hour later he took out a shortstacked Russian Alexandr Lakhov with 7-7 Vs. 7-6.

The final table payouts were:
1: Marcin Wydrowski — $423,957
2: Alexandr Lahkov — $278,866
3: Bodo Sbrzesny — $179,246
4: Tony Chang — $132,736
5: Michael Gagliano — $99,506
6: Alin Grasu — $79,723
