The final event of the current season of Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, the £100,000 Champion of Champions freeoll, has been won by Belgian Serge Van Landegham.

Landegham overcame a 2:1 chip deficit against recent World Poker Tour National Dublin winner Simon Deadman.

Estate agent Van Landegham, who has been playing poker for just three years, said after his biggest ever win, “The standard of play was very high. The British players are more respectful and polite than in Belgium and Holland where it’s more aggressive and etiquette is not as important.

“Work permitting, I will travel back for more GUKPT events as the tour experience was thoroughly enjoyable.”

A total of 94 players qualified for the GUKPT Champion of Champions tournament at G Casino, Luton each of whom had won a GUKPT main or side event in the 2012 season.

The final table payouts were:
1: Serge Van Landegham — £22,630
2: Simon Deadman — £16,060
3: Les Fenton — £10,220
4: Fadil Isufi — £6,200
5: Vincent Calenti — £5,110
