Cody, who has European Poker Tour, World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour titles to his name, topped the 343-strong field to take down £19,400 for his win.
“It’s all about the trophy,” he said after the event. “I just hate to lose. If I’d have even come second I’d have been gutted.”
Ninety-eight players got paid a minimum of £520 from the £83,177 at the PokerStars LIVE lounge in the Hippodrome.
