PokerStars has announced it expects to host the largest prize pool tournament ever outside of the World Series of Poker.
The HKD $1 million (approx. €100,000 or $130,000) buy in Guangdong Asia Millions will take place from June 4-7, 2013 in Macau.
Players will also be allowed two HKD $1 Million rebuys and over 100 are expected to play the event including one PokerStars qualifier who will win the largest ever package ever given away at the site.
Danny McDonagh, director of Live Poker Operations for the Asia Pacific for PokerStars, said, “This is going to be the one of the most amazing poker tournaments of all-time. We are expecting over 100 players to sit down and play and one of the biggest prize pools for a poker tournament outside of the World Series of Poker. It’s going to be seriously huge!”
The event will be held in conjunction with the Guangdong Group which is one of the largest VIP junket operators in Macau providing a one-stop luxury VIP service and a 24 hours professional attentive service team, in order to satisfy every guest with privilege experiences.
