Event no. 9, the $3,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em shootout event at the 2013 World Series of Poker, featured another stacked final table.
When it was all over, veteran poker player Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy sat with all the chips. He earned his second gold bracelet at his fourth final-table appearance.

Josephy topped a field of 477 players who created a total prize pool of $1,302,210. He bested a final table that included notables such as Steven Silverman, Tim West, David Baker, Alessandro Longobardi, Max Steinberg, Chris Klodnicki and Ryan Hughes.
Josephy, winner of 16 tournaments during his career, now has more than $4.5 million in career tournament earnings between live and online play. This win is the second largest payday of his career. In 2006, he finished second in the Ultimate Bet Aruba Poker Classic for $446,975.
Josephy also earned 1,080 Card Player Player of the Year points, climbing to 69th place as a result of this win and one prior final table finish in 2013. Third-place finisher Steven Silverman earned 720 POY points, catapulting him into sixth place in the overall standings. This was his fourth final table of the year, with one title win in the €25,000 European Poker Tour Grand Final no-limit hold’em high roller event. Silverman now boasts year-to-date earnings of $1,273,773.
