The $1,000 buy-in World Series of Poker pot-limit Omaha event drew a whopping 1,128 players, becoming the largest non-hold’em field in series history. The record field created a total prize pool of $1,015,200 paid out to 117 players.
After three days of action, Chicago-native Brandon Shack-Harris emerged with the win, his first bracelet and the $205,634 first-place prize. Shack-Harris, a mixed games specialist, has three other WSOP cashes on his resume, including a third-place finish in a 2012 $1,500 seven card stud eight-or-better tournament.
“My strategy was to play my best, and get lucky when it mattered, and have chips when I got unlucky, and that’s exactly what happened,” he said. “I was really surprised at the quality of players who played in this event, so to win it is great.”
In order to earn the title, Shack-Harris had to overcome a final table that included Nick Guagenti (ninth), Loren Klein (eighth) and two-time bracelet winner Steve Billirakis (fourth).
Here is a look at the final table results.
