Roughly 9,700 hands over the past week netted Swedish poker pro Viktor Blom $669,368, according to data from HighstakesDB.
Blom logged a total of 52 sessions over the past seven days, which was the most in the high-stakes online poker world. The most intense sessions came at limit Omaha eight-or-better, in which Blom destroyed his competition.
As of Monday, Blom was down $150,000 on the week, but he managed to turn things around quickly. He was aided, in part, by winning a $129,600 encounter at $300-$600 pot-limit Omaha, the largest pot he took down all week. Limit pots are usually smaller.
The winnings cut Blom’s deficit on the year in half, as he is nearly $670,000 in the hole on 2014 after the performance this past week. At one point during the year, Blom was up more than $2 million, but he lost it all and then some.
The second largest winner over the time frame was German high-stakes limit specialist kagome kagome, who won roughly $268,000.
Unlike some of their peers, both aforementioned players decided to skip the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Blom definitely did it in favor of playing online.
Blom won around $500,000 during the poker festival.
High-stakes online players who were present at the 2014 WSOP include Tom Dwan, Dan Cates, Scott Palmer, Phil Galfond, Gus Hansen, Ola Amundsgard, Doug Polk, Isaac Haxton, among others. Blom, who represents Full Tilt, has attended in the past.
