The final table of the 2014 World Series of Poker main event was set in the early morning hours of July 15th. A field of 6,683 players was narrowed down to just one table: The November Nine.
Card Player TV was on sight to catch up with the players after they made the final table, including seventh-place stack William Tonking. The 27-year-old online poker player from Flemington, New Jersey graduated from University of South Carolina with a degree in Economics.
Prior to making the November Nine Tonking notched $92,000 in tournament earnings with 10 career cashes. His best result came in the 2012 Sands Deepstack Extravaganza main event, where he took fifth place for $28,000. He also cashed in a WSOP event earlier this summer, earning nearly $4,000 for a 77th-place finish in the $1,500 no-limit hold’em mixed max tournament.
In the video Tonking discusses how he got into poker, his plans for the intervening months and his thoughts on his chances to become the next world champion come November.
