The Week's Biggest Tournaments Broken Down By Region

In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. Check out all the tournament action set to go down in your own backyard from December 1st through the 7th. Head to our tournament database for more information.

NEVADA

  • The 2014 WPT Five Diamond & Alpha8 (Dec 05, ‘14 – Dec 20, ’14) The Bellagio Hotel Casino inLas Vegas has long been seen as one of the center’s of the high stakes poker world. The legendary property is set to continue that legacy this week with it’s World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic tournament series. The 12-event festival is undeniably highlighted by the $10,400 WPT no-limit hold’em event and the $100,000 Alpha8 super high roller that both begin next week, but the action officially kicks off with a $1,080 no-limit hold’em event beginning at noon on Friday, Dec. 5th.

INTERNATIONAL

  • The EPT Season XI / EUREKA Prague (Dec 07, ‘14 – Dec 17, ’14) The European Poker Tour returns to the Hilton Hotel in Prague for it’s final stop of 2014 this week. The 44-event tournament series kicks off on Dec. 7th with the Eureka Poker Tour €1,100 no-limit hold’em main event, a five-day event that features two starting days each beginning at noon local time. The €50,000 super high roller and €5,300 EPT main event begin next week.
  • The 2014 WPT Alpha8 St. Kitts (Dec 05, ‘14 – Dec 06, ’14) The WPT Alpha8 super high roller tour returns to St. Kitts for one of the final $100,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em events of the year. The high stakes event will take place at the Royal Beach Casino, kicking off on Dec. 5th.

FLORIDA

  • The 2014 Winter Poker Open (Dec 04, ‘14 – Dec 21, ’14) This week the Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa is the site of Florida’s next major tournament series, with the kickoff event being a $150,000 guaranteed $350 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features six starting flights, start times of which can be found here.

CALIFORNIA

  • The 2014/2015 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s California (Dec 04, ‘14 – Dec 15, ’14) The Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort in Valley Center, CA will see the WSOP Circuit pull into town later this week, with the highlight of the first few events being a three-day $365 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins with the first of three starting flights at 5:00 PM on Dec. 5th, with flights 1B and 1C starting at noon and 5:00 PM on the following day.

SOUTH

  • The 2014 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee (Nov 28, ‘14 – Dec 08, ’14) The World Series of Poker Circuit returned to Cherokee, North Carolina last week for the latest stop on their popular tour. This week will see the second half of the 12-event schedule on offer, with the highlight being the $1,675 WSOP Circuit no-limit hold’em main event that begins with the first of two starting days at noon on Dec. 5th.

MOUNTAIN

  • The 2014 Colorado Poker Championship XI (Nov 28, ‘14 – Dec 15, ’14) The Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado got it’s sizable 32-event Colorado Poker Championship XI series underway last week. The biggest event of this week is likely the $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins at noon on Dec. 6th.

NORTHEAST

  • The 2014 Megastack Challenge (Dec 06, ‘14 – Dec 15, ’14) The Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT is back with another great tournament series, this time featuring 25 events as part of their 2014 Megastack Challenge. The early highlight is a $125,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament that begins at 11:00 AM on Dec. 6th.
  • The 2014 Superstacks Hold’em Series (Nov 28, ‘14 – Dec 07, ’14) The Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona, NY launched it’s Superstacks Hold’em Series last weekend, but the marquee $100,000 guaranteed main event is set to get underway this week. The $550 buy-in tournament sports two starting days, each beginning at 11:00 AM on Dec. 5th and 6th.
