On June 28, the Oaks Card Club in Emeryville, California paid off its biggest bad beat jackpot ever. When quad nines got beaten by a ten-high straight flush, the nine lucky players at the $1-$1-$2 no-limit hold’em table split the massive jackpot of $200,000!

The “Luck of the Irish” came through, as it was a native Irishman who held the losing hand of four nines and received an $80,000 payout for his bad beat. The winner of the hand received $40,000, and each of the other players at the table picked up just over $11,000.

The Oaks Card Club is one of northern California’s oldest and largest poker rooms. The recently expanded casino features 40 tables of non-stop gaming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The room is located across the bay just 20 minutes from San Francisco.
