Gaming revenues for New Jersey-licensed online gaming sites were totaled $12.2 million in August, compared to $10.5 million in August 2014, according to figures released Monday by Garden State gaming regulators. That is an increase of 15.8 percent year-over-year.

Revenue from peer-to-peer online poker was $1,983,230, down from $2,251,917 in August 2014. The decline in the online poker market has taken place throughout 2015, as the house-banked online casino games market continues to grow at a steady clip.

Year-to-date online gaming win was $96,723,723 through August, up 15.6 percent from the $83,668,485 during the same period in 2014.

Year-to-date online poker revenue fell to $16,190,596 from $21,074,132.

Thanks to a 15.2-percent drop in overall gaming win (live and online) in August compared to the same month last year, year-to-date gaming win for Atlantic City casinos stood at roughly $1.7 billion, down from about $1.9 billion from the same period in 2014.

Atlantic City lost a handful of casinos last year, so if you discount the ones that closed, gaming win is actually up 3.2 percent from the first eight months of the year.

The good news about the online poker revenue for August is that the 11.9 percent drop year-over-year is much lower than the 20-percent drops seen during the first quarter of 2015.

In other words, New Jersey online poker has stabilized.

Garden State online poker will receive a serious boost if and when Amaya Gaming, the owner of Full Tilt and PokerStars, gets licensed. Industry insiders have predicted this fall.
