Card Player Poker Tour: Adam Volen Leads Hollywood Park Main Event After Day 1A

The Main Event Features Three Starting Days and a $150,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool

The Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park National Championship of Poker $500 no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee main event kicked off with a bang Oct. 22, bringing in a Day 1A field of 101 players.

Adam Volen bagged a massive chip lead over the final 11 players at the end of the night, bagging a stack of 798,000. Volen finished fourth in the CPPT Bicycle Casino Main Event last year for $43,155, his largest live cash to date.

David Levy bagged the second largest stack of the night at 335,000.

With Day 1A in the books, two starting days remain – Day 1B on Oct. 23 and Day 1C on Oct. 24 – and each will begin at 12 pm local time. Players begin each Day 1 with 30,000 in chips and can re-enter or register until the beginning of Level 9. Each day one will end when only 10 percent of the field remains, meaning all day 2 players will be in the money. Levels on day 2 will begin at the earliest ending level of the day ones. Players may also qualify up to three times and combine their chips.

A $60 multiple table satellite for Day 1C will being at 7pm Friday. Players can re-buy once for $60, will begin with 5000 in chips and will play 20-minute levels. At least 5 seats are guaranteed into the main event.

Day 2 will begin at 2 pm on Oct. 25 and play down to a winner. The final table, complete with commentary, will be live-streamed on CardPlayer.com.
