Josh Parker led the nine players who advanced from Day 1B of the Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park National Championship of Poker $500 no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee main event.
Day 1B drew a total of 88 players and Parker picked up a massive pot on the final hand of the night to take a sizeable chiplead – 768,000 – over the remainder of the field.
With the board reading 1098 Michael Burrell shoved for 330,000 and Parker, with a stack of 362,000, called. Burrell showed J10 against Parker’s JJ. The board completed J5 to sent Burrell to the rail and give Parker the lead.
Adam Volen bagged a massive chip lead over the final 11 players at the end of Day 1A, bagging a stack of 798,000, giving him the overall chiplead over two day ones.
With Day 1B in the books only one starting day remains. Day 1C will begin at 12 pm local time.
Players begin with 30,000 in chips and can re-enter or register until the beginning of Level 9. Day 1C will end when only 10 percent of the field remains, meaning all day 2 players will be in the money. Levels on day 2 will begin at the earliest ending level of the day ones.
Day 2 will begin at 2 pm on Oct. 25 and play down to a winner. The final table, complete with commentary, will be live-streamed on CardPlayer.com.
