The 2015 World Poker Tour Prague €3,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event attracted a field of 256 entries to build a prize pool of €730,340 ($773,824 USD). In the end it was Spain’s Javier Gomez who came out on top, earning €175,000 ($190,347 USD) and 612 Card Player Player of the Year points.
Gomez overcame a tough field, with plenty of big names making the money but falling short of the final table including Yann Dion (15th – $11,203 USD), Steve O’Dwyer (14th – $11,203 USD) and Igor Yaroshevskyy (12th – $13,596).
He came into the final day in fifth chip position among the six remaining players. He survived to heads-up play, taking a huge lead of 6.2 million to Pavel Plesuv’s 1,445,000 into the final showdown.
In the final hand Plesuv moved all in for A3 and Gomez made the call with a dominating ace-ten. The board ran out K6552 and Plesuv was sent to the rail as the runner-up with €120,000.
