Niall Farrell Wins World Poker Tour Caribbean Main Event

Farrell Earns First WPT Title and $335,000 First-Place Prize

The World Poker Tour wrapped up a main event stop in the Caribbean Wednesday night, with Niall Farrell coming out on top to earn his first WPT title and the $335,000 first-place prize, which includes a $15,000 seat into the season-ending Tournament of Champions.

With this victory, Farrell, an EPT champion from 2015, now has more than $3.1 million in lifetime live tournament earnings. The Scottish poker pro, who has a law degree, also has two runner-up finishes at the World Series of Poker.

The $5,000 buy-in event drew a field of 323, creating a total prize pool of $1,456,892. The final 36 players were paid out at least $10,000, with notables such as Sam Greenwood (30th), Kristen Bicknell (29th), Akush Mandavia (27th), Christ Hunichen (24th), Ari Engel (22nd), Manig Loeser (20th) and Keven Stammen (8th) all finishing in the money.

In addition to the prize money, Farrell also received 960 Card Player Player of the Year points. That brings his year-to-date total to 3,464 which is enough to move him into 20th place overall.
