Eric Ladny Wins 2018 CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel Main Event

Eric Ladny has won the 2018 Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament attracted a total of 307 total entries, blowing away the $200,000 guarantee to build a final prize pool of $307,000. The lion’s share of that was awarded to Ladny, who took home $54,022 and became the first-ever CPPT champion decided in Maryland.

Ladny now works as a radio producer, but he played poker professionally for many years. He got his start in poker as an online player, having won over $2.5 million under the screen name “psuNYY51” according to tracking sites. With this win, he now has live tournament earnings of $647,138. This was his third largest live tournament cash.

Ladny came into the final day of this event in 34th chip position with 83 remaining but had he managed to climb into the chip lead by the dinner break. At that point, there were 21 players remaining. Ladny made the final table, joined by notable poker pro Roland Israelashvili. The New York native with four WSOP final table finishes under his belt ultimately placed fifth in this event, cashing for $14,767 and bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to over $3 million.

Ladny made a deal during three-handed play that saw him secure the trophy and the top payout of $54,022, while Steven Markowitz took home $46,810 and Nitis Udornpim was awarded $45,019. In addition to the title and the money, Ladny also earned 480 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win, enough to see him join the top 20 early in the year.
