The stage is set for the final day of the 2018 Card Player Poker Tour Golden Gates Casino $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. A total of 456 entries were made in the event, building a total prize pool of $237,120. Day 1A saw 243 entries while Day 1B added 213. Now only 107 players remain, with 55 advancing from day 1A and another 52 from day 1B.
The overall chip leader played on day 1B. Andreas Ramadanis ended the day on a massive upswing, winning a few big hands in the final levels to surge into the lead with 564,000. The final hand saw Ramadanis eliminate two players with a turned set of sixes, which had outrun the pocket eights and pocket tens of his two all-in opponents.
Other big stacks from day 1B included Mark Manges (398,000) and 2017 World Series of Poker Circuit Harvey’s Lake tahoe main event winner Max Young (378,000). Young won a massive hand late in the day with pocket aces all-in preflop against an opponent’s AK that helped propell him up the chip counts.
Day 2 begins at 11:00 a.m. local time and will continue until a new CPPT champion is decided.
