Card Player Poker Tour San Diego Classic Begins Thursday At Ocean's 11 Casino

Fifth Running of the CPPT San Diego Classic To Run Jan. 25-28

The Card Player Poker Tour is set to kick off 2018 in style as it returns to Ocean’s 11 Casino near San Diego. This will mark the fifth time that the CPPT has made it’s way to picturesque Oceanside, California to for the San Diego Classic, a $250 buy-in main event that will once again feature six starting flights spread out over three days (Jan. 25-27). Though the event again features a $150,000 estimated prize pool, in the past two years, the event has drawn fields in excess of 900 entries which brought the total prize pools to around a quarter of a million dollars.

2017 CPPT Ocean's 11 San Diego Classic April champion Shawn BusseIn addition to being able to buy-in to starting flights for $250, players can also take advantage of the Quantum Tournament structure of this event and buy in for $1,500 on Sunday, Jan. 28 for day 2 and receive 100,000 in tournament chips. Players can also pay a $30 optional staff add-on and receive another 20,000 in chips. Players will only be able to directly buy-in for day 2 up to the start of play at 1:00 p.m. local time.

The four previous winners of this event include are Barry Seidman, Shawn Busse, Robert DeAgazio and Barry Knowlton. Busse topped the largest ever CPPT Oceans 11 San Diego Classic main event field in April of 2017, outlasting 920 total entries to win $48,910 and the CPPT title.

Ocean’s 11 is the only casino in Southern California located along the Pacific Ocean on the Interstate 5 freeway, less than a mile from some of the area’s most picturesque beaches.

The property also boasts 50 tables of the best poker and table games found anywhere in California with all the favorite poker games, including no-limit and limit hold’em, Omaha, Omaha eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and crazy pineapple.
