We’re nearing the halfway point of the summer, but the best is yet to come over at the Venetian® DeepStack Championship Poker Series, which is guaranteeing more than $31 million during their massive 150-event tournament series.
“Our goal is always to offer a tournament series that is unmatched in terms of amenities, quality of staff, and variety of events offered, while offering the largest guaranteed prize pools,” said Venetian Tournament Director Tommy LaRosa. “This year, we’re offering our largest total guaranteed prize pool ever – $31 million. Every year we look at new ways we can enhance the player experience here at the resort.”
The events are currently being hosted in the Sands Hall G Convention Center, which houses tournament tables, a designated final table area with stadium-style seating, a food court, and lounge area.
“The expansion has allowed us to feature 103 tables for tournament play and keep 37 cash tables available in The Venetian Poker Room,” said LaRosa. "The move also allows us to provide a smoke-free and slot noise-free environment. We’ve enhanced the player experience with a food court, lounge area with three massive projection screens for relaxing in between events, shuffle machines on every table, and of course, a final table set up so family and friends can come watch their loved ones play for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Here’s a look at some of the exciting events left on the schedule.
So far, the series has awarded some huge payouts. The opening $340 double stack, which featured a $100,000 guarantee, saw Julie Polatchek take home $35,292 for topping a field of 600 entrants. Matt Affleck banked $115,273 in an $1,100 event, and Antoine Saout earned $137,504 for just a $600 investment in the SuperStack event.
David Levine won life-changing money of $495,500 in an MSPT event, followed by Christopher Soyza who pocketed $588,249. Poker power couple Alex Foxen and Kristen Bicknell even managed to finish first and second in a $5,000 event, earning more than $200,000 each.
