This December, the Card Player Poker Tour is returning to the Venetian in Las Vegas for the DeepStack Showdown, a 24-event series that boasts more than $1.1 million in guarantees.

The action kicks off Dec. 5 and runs through Dec. 16. Highlights on the schedule include a $150,000 guaranteed double stack no-limit hold’em tournament with a $1,100 buy-in, a $150,000 guaranteed double stack no-limit hold’em tournament with a $600 buy-in, and four separate $30,000 guaranteed double stack no-limit hold’em tournaments with a $400 buy-in. Other games on the schedule include bounty tournaments, Omaha eight-or-better, survivor events, rebuys, and a senior’s event.

But the highlight of the series is the $500,000 guaranteed Card Player Poker Tour main event, a three-day tournament that begins Dec. 14 and features a $3,500 buy-in. Players will have plenty of chances to win their main event seat at a discount with several satellite options. The Venetian will be running a $400 mega satellite on Dec. 12, 13, and 14.

Last year, Mike Dentale defeated a tough field of 235 entrants to win the $185,061 first-place prize. The tournament’s $740,250 easily crushed the $500,000 guarantee, and tournament officials are expecting more of the same this year.
