Global Poker’s GOAT online poker tournament series continued this weekend with two marquee events on the Sunday schedule, both having no trouble clearing their posted guarantees as the site continues to see a surge in traffic.
The SC110 buy-in Sunday Teaser drew a field of 390, easily eclipsing the SC25,000 guarantee to create a total prize pool of SC39,000. After five hours of play, Indiana’s ‘@ChipsMaxwell’ came out on top, pocketing the SC7,390 first-place prize.
The guarantee doubled to SC50,000 for the special edition of the Sunday Scrimmage, which saw 404 players put up the SC218 buy-in to build a final prize pool of SC80,800. It took almost seven hours, but in the end it came down to two California players, which ‘ChasinStacks1’ besting ‘Penneltenn’ heads-up for the SC15,311 first-place prize.
During the three-week series, players will compete in 204 scheduled events guaranteeing 330 million in Gold Coins and SC 1,100,000.
