The 2021 World Poker Tour Online Series $25,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em super high roller event attracted a field of 43 total entries, resulting in the $1,000,000 guarantee being surpassed by roughly $75,000. The top seven finishers ultimately made the money in this high-stakes affair, with the lion’s share going to German online poker pro Benjamin Rolle. The player, known to many by his online screen name ‘bencb789’, beat out a stacked final table to secure the title and the first-place prize of $381,400.

The single-day event was held on May 23, with Rolle taking down the final hand in the early morning hours of the following day. Swiss professional poker player Linus ‘LLinusLLove’ Loeliger was eliminated on the $56,545 money bubble, ensuring that the remaining seven players would all earn at least double the $25,500 buy-in.

2021 Card Player Player of the Year race contender Ali Imsirovic was the first to hit the virtual rail after the bubble burst, earning $56,545 as the eighth-place finisher. While Imsirovic didn’t add any POY points in this event, he currently sits in sixth place in the overall standings with four live titles, $1,596,010 in POY earnings, and 2,078 points on the year.

World Series of Poker bracelet winner Daniel Dvoress was the next to fall, earning $65,700 for his latest deep run in a high stakes event. 2017 Super High Roller Bowl winner Christoph Vogelsang cashed for $78,421 as the fifth-place finisher, ensuring that the final four would all earn six-figure paydays.

Hungary’s Laszlo Bujtas saw his run come to an end in fourth place ($105,919), setting up a final showdown between Rolle, 2021 European Poker Tour Sochi champion Artur Martirosyan, and WSOP bracelet winner Joao Vieira, who is the all-time online tournament earnings leader according to PocketFives’ tracking data. Vieira ended up finishing third for $152,768, bringing his total online earnings to nearly $24.5 million.

Rolle went on to defeat Martirosyan heads-up, sending the Russian high stakes regular home with $234,244.
