Dylan Weisman emerged victorious in the 2023 PGT Mixed Games II $10,200 buy-in dealer’s choice event, besting a field of 49 entries to take him his third career live tournament title and the top prize of $156,400.
This was the third-largest score yet for Weisman, trailing only the $416,500 he secured as the 2022 U.S. Poker Open $25,000 pot-limit Omaha champion and the $166,461 he took home after winning his World Series of Poker bracelet in the 2021 $1,000 PLO eight-max event.
Weisman now has more than $2.1 million in lifetime tournament earnings to his name after this latest win.
This was his fifth final-table finish of the year, and second of this festival. He kicked off the series with a sixth-place showing in the $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. event. The 210 PGT points he has earned with these two deep runs have moved him into third place in the points race for the series.
David Funkhouser, who won that kickoff H.O.R.S.E. tournament, finished fourth in this event for $53,900. He is now the second-ranked player in the series points race, trailing only Chino Rheem, who has three cashes and a win.
Only the top seven finishers cashed in this tournament. Among them were bracelet winner Andrew Kelsall (7th), longtime high-stakes tournament regular Dan Shak (6th), five-time bracelet winner John Monnette (5th), Walter Chambers (3rd), and Craig Chait (2nd).
Chait was eliminated during a round of pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better. Chait had flopped the nut straight with an open-ended straight flush redraw, but Weisman backed into the nut flush. He put Chait all-in on the end and Chait eventually called to bring the tournament to an end. He earned $118,000 as the runner-up, the second-largest payday on his tournament resume.
