The 2024 European Poker Tour Paris festival kicked off last week at the Palais des Congres de Paris. The series features over 30 events, including seven high-roller tournaments with buy-ins of €25,000 or higher. Three such tournaments have already been completed, with more than $6 million in prize money paid out between them. Below we take a look at the results from those high-stakes events.
2024 EPT Paris €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em I
The first high-roller event of the festival was a €25,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament. The single-day affair attracted 51 total entries by the time registration came to a close, building a final prize pool of $1,295,482 that was paid out among the top seven finishers.
The last player standing was two-time Card Player Player of the Year award winner Stephen Chidwick. The British poker pro took home $421,006 and 420 POY points after defeating four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos(2nd – $278,532) heads-up.
This was the first title and eighth final-table finish of 2024 for Chidwick, with more than $1 million in to-date POY earnings already accrued. He followed this win up with an eighth-place showing in the €50,000 buy-in event at this same series just days later. As a result of his strong start to the year, he has climbed into second place in the POY standings. Chidwick now has more than $55.8 million in career cashes, the third-most of any player in the history of the game.
Jesse Lonis made his fifth final table of the year, placing fifth for $110,160. He now sits in fourth place in the POY race heading into late February.

2024 EPT Paris €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em II
The second €25,000 buy-in tournament on the schedule drew an even larger turnout, with 62 entries building a $1,574,899 prize pool paid out among eight in-the-money finishers.
The largest chunk was captured by Canadian poker pro Daniel Dvoress. The two-time bracelet winner locked up $480,427 for the win, along with 504 POY points. He had also finished seventh in the first high roller.With $548,467 in earnings and 609 POY points accumulated so far this series, Dvoress has moved inside the top 125 in the POY race.
Dvoress also increased his lifetime tournament earnings to over $31.5 million with this victory.
Michael Watson finished fifth, backing up his fourth-place showing in the first €25,000 buy-in and his ninth-place finish in the €10,200 mystery bounty event earlier in the series. The Canadian World Poker Tour winner and two-time EPT champion now has more than $22.5 million in career earnings.

2024 EPT Paris €50,000 No-Limit Hold’em
The largest buy-in event offered during this festival cost €50,000 to enter. That amount was posted 62 times before registration came to an end, building a prize pool of $3,149,798 for the top eight finishers.
A French player came out on top, with Thomas Santerne walking away with the trophy and the top payout of $960,638. This was the largest score yet for the native of Normany, easily surpassing the $254,417 he earned as the runner-up in the World Series of Poker $10,000 six-max event last year. He now has more than $1.6 million in career earnings.
Two-time bracelet winner Chris Brewer finished second for $629,964. This was the second POY-qualified final-table finish of the year for the American, who finished fourth in the final POY standings in 2023 with 26 such showings and nearly $13.5 million in POy earnings during the year.
Sweden’s Niklas Astedt, who finished runner-up in the second €25,000 high roller, placed seventh in this event. The online superstar known to many as ‘Lena900’ has already cashed for nearly $473,000 this series.
