Pavlos Kasselouris is the latest champion to be crowned on the Moneymaker Tour. The Floridian topped a field of 214 entries in the Moneymaker Tour Palm Beach Kennel Club $2,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event to secure his first major live tournament title and the top prize of $121,485. The former online poker streamer now has more than $251,000 in recorded earnings to his name.
The victory also conveyed 540 Card Player Player of the Year points to Kasselouris, putting him within striking distance of the top 200 in the 2024 POY points race presented by Global Poker.
This event featured a $500,000 guarantee. That amount was what was ultimately paid out to the top 27 finishers, as the field was nine players short of surpassing the guarantee.
Plenty of big names ran deep in this event, including two-time bracelet winner Athanasios Polychronopoulos (15th), Matt Glantz (10th), Barstool Sports personality Ben Mintz (8th), Michael Jagroo (5th), Josh Kay (3rd), and Ian O’Hara (2nd).
O’Hara had finished second in a $1,500 Moneymaker Tour main event at this same venue in November of 2023. The $84,315 he secured for his most recent runner-up finish increased his career earnings to just shy of $4.2 million.
