The 2024 World Series of Poker is entering its final week of action, with just 16 live bracelets left to award. As the record-setting main event played on, two bracelets were awarded elsewhere at Horseshoe Las Vegas in recent days. Below we take a closer look at those tournaments.

Event #83 – $1,500 Eight Game Mix Six Max

Garth YettickThe $1,500 eight-game mix event drew a field of 494 entries, resulting in a prize pool of $659,490 that was paid out across the top 73 finishers.

In the end, it came down to a back-and-forth heads-up match between six-time bracelet winner Josh Arieh and Garth Yettick. Ultimately it was Yettick who triumphed, earning $131,061 and his first bracelet as the champion.

Arieh settled for $85,667. There were several other big names that made it down to the final day in this event, including a trio of two-time bracelet winners in Marco Johnson (6th), Maxx Coleman (5th), and John Racener (4th).

Three-time bracelet winner and 2024 Poker Hall of Fame nominee ‘Miami’ John Cernuto placed third for $57,249.

Arieh entered heads-up play with the lead, and was able to stretch his advantage to greater than 5:1 before Yettick mounted his comeback. Yettick was able to move ahead before the final two took a dinner break. He had built a 5:2 lead of his own by the time the final hand arose in a round of no-limit hold’em. All the chips got in with Arieh’s A-Q trailing the A-K of Yettick. Both players paired their kicker on the floop and Yettick held from there to score the knockout and end the tournament.
