Resorts World Las Vegas' Summer Poker Series Draws Over 10,700 EntriesA Look At The Final Set of Results From The 91-Event Festival, Which Paid Out More Than $2.2 Million In Prize Money |

The 2024 Summer Poker Series at Resorts World Las Vegas has concluded. There were 91 poker tournaments hosted at the venue from June 6 through July 22. In that span, more than 10,700 entries were made, resulting in nearly $2,234,000 in total prize money.
Buy-ins ranged from $120 up to $400, with 87 of the 91 tournaments sporting guaranteed prize pools. The guarantee was surpassed in about 98 percent of the events held, with the average prize pool clocking in at roughly 2.5 times the guarantee. Two events ended up more than quintupling the guarantee, with another three more than quadrupling the promised prize pool. In fact, more than a quarter of the guarantees were at least tripled.

Event #67 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em
Mario De Souza ended up making six final tables during this series, including a win on June 23 in one of the $5,000 guaranteed events. He came incredibly close to securing a second title, but ultimately fell just one spot short in event no. 67.
De Souza earned $2,685 as the runner up in the $10,000 guaranteed $200 buy-in tournament, which was ultimately won by Derek Stark. Stark walked away with $4,334 as the champion. The tempe, Arizona resident now has more than $94,000 in career cashes.
A turnout of 79 entries in this event saw the $10,000 guarantee surpassed by $3,035, with the top eight finishers earnings a share.

Event #68 – $5,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em
Later that same day, Timothy Cobb emerged victorious from a field of 54 entries in event no. 68. Cobb was awarded $2,410 for the win. This was his first recorded live tournament title.
The tournament’s $5,000 guarantee was easily outstripped, with $8,910 in prize money paid out amongst the final six.
2013 World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic main event 37th-place finisher Marios Savvides wound up in 5th in this event, earning $757 to bring his career total to $373,753.

Event #69 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em
Scotty Contreras was the last player standing from a fitting field of 69 entries in event no. 69. The $11,385 prize pool that resulted was paid out between the top eight finishers.
Third and fourth-place finishers John Clausell and Eric Gin each recorded their first live tournament cashes with deep runs in this event. Richard Rothmeier, who finished second in this year’s World Series of Poker casino employees event, placed sixth in this tournament for $740.

A turnout of 44 entries saw the $5,000 guarantee beaten yet again, with $7,260 paid out to the top five in event no. 70. Anton Bebo walked way with the title and the $2,832 top prize.
Derek Stark, just a day removed from his win in event no. 67, was the runner-up this time around for $1,742.

Michael Christensen triumphed over a field of 83 entries in event no. 71, earning $4,182 after defeating Cervante Alvarez heads-up.
This was the second career live title for Christensen, who now has more than $56,000 in lifetime earnings.
Victor Wan earned his third final-table finish at the series in a fie-day span, placing fourth for $1,274. He now has nearly $109,000 in career cashes.
The top ten earned a share of the $13,695 prize pool.

Avi Cohen bested a 35-entry affair in event no. 72 to earn $2,100 and his third career live title.
The Boston resident now has more than $734,000 in lifetime earnings, with his largest score being the $237,865 he earned for a 43rd-place showing in the 2007 WSOP main event.

Event #73 – $10,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold’em
The $10,000 guarantee was nearly doubled when 117 entries were made in event no. 73, with $19,305 paid out to the top 12 finishers.
The largest chunk of that money was awarded to Bradley Beetz, who took home $5,641. This was the 94th cash and fourth title on Beetz’s resume. It pushed his recorded earnings past the $475,000 mark.
Tamra Piderit earned $3,497 as the runner-up, her second-largest score yet. Jesus Ayala, who won an event just over two weeks earlier at this series, finished sixth for $1,013.

Corey Prisoc nabbed the title and the top payout of $1,829 in event no 74, overcoming the 42-entry field to lock up the victory.
This marked the third title for Prisoc, who now has more than $77,000 in total earnings under his belt.

Wednesday, July 17 saw 181 entries turn out for event no. 75, resulting in a prize pool worth nearly three times the $10,000 guarantee for the $200 buy-in event. The $29,865 in total prize money was shared by 21 finishers, with the largest piece of the pie belonging to Ryan Hunsinger.
This was the second win of the series for Hunsinger, who previously took down another $10,000 guaranteed event roughly five weeks earlier. He now has nearly $253,000 in lifetime cashes.
Patrick Gunraj, who won a $15,000 guarantee event nearly two weeks earlier, placed fifth for $1,619.

Benjamin Porter captured the title in event no. 76, outlasting a field of 69 entries to walk away with $3,928.
Jingqi Shen finished second for $2,425. This was Shen’s second final table of the series, having also placed fifth in another $5,000 guaranteed event earlier on in the festival.

This event had 99 entries, and David Kenniston won. The $16,335 prize pool was shared across the top 12 finishers, with Kenniston taking home $4,364 as the champion.
This was the first recorded live tournament victory for the Muskegon, Michigan resident. He now has over $214,000 in career cashes, with his largest being a fourth-place finish in the 2022 MSPT Riverside main event for $48,505.
Georgana Trumbullmiller finished ninth for $2,024 and apparently hopped right into the $5,000 guaranteed event that ran later that night.

Trumbullmiller’s decision to get back to it paid off handsomely, with a second-place finish from a field of 55 entries being worth $2,024. Christopher Hull was the winner of event no. 78. He was awarded $3,268 after topping Trumbullmiller heads-up.
The top six finishers made the money in this event, with $9,075 in prize money on offer. Hester Saunders recorded a second final-table finish at this festival in the span of a week, having placed third in a $5,000 guaranteed event just five days earlier.

Fifth-place finisher Peg Franchetti ended up with four cashes during this series, including three final-table showings. The Boulder City, Nevada resident now has nearly $17,000 in lifetime cashes.
