High Stakes PLO Round Up: EPT Hero Bobby James Wins $144k Against VeniVidi And More On CoinPokerA Recap of The $100-$200 PLO Match From This Sunday |
|
Fresh off the European Poker Tour Cyprus stop where he racked up more than $300,000 in cashes, Robert ‘Bobby’ James took to the high-stakes pot-limit Omaha cash tables on CoinPoker this Sunday.
Bobby James announced on his Instagram that he’d be “gambling his EPT winnings” in a promotion for the site, versus VeniVidi1993 and “other superstars,” giving away 5% of any winnings from the $100-$200 PLO session.
Tony G, Kakitee, Spillehagen streamer dogecoin4life, MoniViking, and samjazzykins also joined the game, with some livestreaming the action as part of the site’s frequent high-stakes VIP matches with ambassadors or celebrities.
Recent exhibition-style games in October included former champion boxers Audley Harrison and Carl Froch, but this CoinPoker nosebleeds game was all online poker pros.

Taking A Shot At High Stakes PLO
At EPT Cyprus Bobby James took down $11,200 for a win in the eight-game mix event, $271,400 for his fifth-place main event finish, and just over $38,000 for two other deep no-limit hold’em cashes.
That gave him 16 buy-ins to take a shot at two tables of the ‘biggest PLO game’ of his life.
I'm gambling away those EPT winnings and there's a chance for you to win 5% of all my profits. $20,000 sit down, two tables. It's the biggest PLO game of my life and I want some @thevenividi1993 dollars. Check out the stream Sunday 5pm UK time.https://t.co/pPKFaQcnD9 pic.twitter.com/rUx0iK8PQK

The British pro later upped the ante and announced an additional 5 percent would be given away if he managed to win more than five buy-ins.
Dutch pro VeniVidi (‘Bitcoinboi’ on CoinPoker) ranks among the best high-stakes PLO regs, known for his heads up matches with Phil Galfond and completing a $1 million bankroll challenge in October across 200,000 hands. So taking down over $100,000 with him at each table would be no easy feat.
Bobby James mainly plays no-limit MTTs, but is no slouch when it comes to Omaha – with that recent eight-game title and also finishing runner-up in the EPT Barcelona pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better event last month.

Bobby James Barrels VeniVidi
At the 38 minute timestamp in VeniVidi’s stream, Bobby James (‘BJPCoin’) opened to $1500 – the game also had a $400 straddle and $75 ante.
VeniVidi called in the small blind with A-Q-J-6 double suited, and MoniViking defended his straddle. Bobby c-bet half pot for $2,400 on a jack-high board, and both players called.
The turn was an ace for a rainbow board, and Bobby again bet into two players, just over 33% pot for $4,700.
Now with top two pair, VeniVidi stated, “Small bet, not really a need to raise here, but I’m definitely calling.” MoniViking folded, leaving the pot at $21,800 going to the river.
The river was a king, VeniVidi again checked, saying “crazy runout” and subsequently faced a pot-sized bet, effectively putting him all-in for his remaining $16,500.
After a long dip into his timebank, ‘VeniVidi’ said, “In general people don’t have enough bluffs here. We’re blocking the A-J, Q-10, obviously he has a lot of A-K, A-A, K-K, but would he bet it for value on the river?”
VeniVidi ultimately folded, and remarked ‘brutal, nice bluff’ as Bobby James flipped over K-10-7-8.

Bobby built up a loose image, making no-limit hold’em style bluffs in big pots – KakiTee called down an almost identical situation to the above down with middle set, commenting, “He’s a no-limit hold’em player, I’m calling based on how he’s played so far.” That time Bobby also showed the bluff, again repping the Broadway straight.
Disaster then struck when Bobby James shoved Q-Q-X-X into VeniVidi’s A-A-X-X on a dry paired board to lose a large pot, and at one point was down several buy-ins.

With that image, however, Bobby then managed to get paid off against VeniVidi in a pot worth 244 big blinds with A-A-J-8 double suited. The money went in on the turn, the players ran it once, and VeniVidi couldn’t river the boat against Bobby’s flush.
He had managed to grind back to breakeven, but then went on a hot streak towards the end of an almost four-hour session.
He finished up $144,000 when the games broke, despite running a set into a straight against loose-aggressive, unknown whale samjazzykins for a $91,000 pot and not managing to pair the board.
Even after this cooler on one of the final hands, Bobby James finishes up +$144k and is giving away $14k, currently picking out 40 lucky winners live across our X stream, Twitch, Instagram and Discord. #poker https://t.co/lYp4kfd8tw pic.twitter.com/VWrNjRCLa2

Another big winner was dogecoin4life who flopped a set against samjazzykins for a $81,000 pot.
Bobby James then picked out 40 winners across Twitter/X, his Twitch, Instagram and the CoinPoker Discord for $350 each, a total of $14,000.
