The 14th season of PokerGO’s High Stakes Poker has been absolutely electric, with no shortage of huge six and seven-figure pots.

Given the amount of action, it’s no wonder Rick Salomon would eventually get involved in a huge spot, all because of that gamble in him. In a recent episode, Salomon’s huge bluff got picked off in a pot worth more than half a million dollars.

Playing six-handed with blinds of $500-$1,000 with a $1,000 big blind ante and a $2,000 straddle, Peter Wang limped in with THeart Suit8Heart Suit ️ from the hijack. Salomon, with a stack worth nearly $500,000, raised to $11,000 with 6Spade Suit3Spade Suit ️from the small blind.

Justin Gavri, who’s been getting beat up on High Stakes Poker this season, woke up with QDiamond SuitQClub Suit in the straddle and three-bet to $33,000. Wang got out of the way and Salomon quickly called, despite being a massive 4:1 underdog according to the Card Player Poker Odds Calculator.

With $74,000 already in the middle, the 4Heart Suit2Diamond Suit7Spade Suit flop gave Salomon a gutshot straight draw and a backdoor flush draw, improving his odds slightly to 22%.

Salomon checked and Gavri bet $39,000. Salomon immediately check-raised all in for Gavri’s $247,000. Gavri called and was in the driver’s seat for a juicy $567,000 pot.

They opted to run it twice. The first board ran out 8Diamond SuitTClub Suit to lock up half the pot for Gavri heading into the second runout.

The second runout started with a scary 9Spade Suit to give Salomon a flush draw to go along with his gutter, pushing his odds to win the board up to 29%.

The river, however, brought the 7Club Suit and Gavri enjoyed a quick double-up to start off the session, despite being one of the biggest losers in the history of televised cash games.

As for Salomon, this was just the beginning of a nightmare session, as Nik Airball would later swallow him up with top set against top pair in a $441,000 pot.
