The New York Giants and New England Patriots won’t be the only players fighting for a title over Super Bowl weekend. The Poker Celebrity Bowl, hosted by Major League Baseball player Royce Clayton and benefitting the Royce Clayton Family Foundation, is scheduled to take place Friday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. in the Harrah’s AK-Chin Casino Ballroom.

The buy-in is $1,000 with $200 rebuys. Half of the prize pool will go to the charity while the rest of it will be awarded to the top 10 finishers. The winner will also receive a $10,000 seat into the World Series of Poker, while second place will get a seat into the Heartland Poker Tour main event at the Majestic Star Casino. The top 10 players will also get cash prizes. A number of fellow MLB players, both current and former, have committed to attending the event, including Luis Gonzales, Ryan Howard, Kyle Lohse, Brian Roberts, Kenny Lofton, Jimmy Rollins, and Geoff Jenkins. Also scheduled to participate are celebrities Tony Denison, Willie Garson, Dondré Whitfield, Montel Williams, and poker pros Robert Williamson III, Jamie Gold, Chris Ferguson, and Annie Duke.

Seats in the event are open to the public. Players can register by calling 480-802-5183 or directly at the Harrah’s AK-Chin poker room.

The Royce Clayton Family Foundation was initiated in 1997 and has worked to promote education, help homeless children, provide aid for battered women, develop athletic opportunities for young minorities, and raise awareness for sickle cell anemia.
