The World Poker Tour Ladies completed its second event in its inaugural circuit at the L.A. Poker Classic inside the Commerce Casino yesterday, with Vanessa Selbst winning $26,500 for first place. Selbst is best known in the online poker community from her performances the past two years at the World Series of Poker. She has made three final tables, including an eighth place in the ladies event. Despite her previous success, this was her first major tournament win.
The $1,000 buy-in event attracted 82 women who competed for a nearly $78,000 prize pool. Crystal Osgood, founder of the Ladies Poker Association, went out in third place and left it heads up between Selbst and poker professioncal Erica Schoenberg, who took home almost $15,000 for second.
