Event No. 1, a $330 Buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Tournament Attracted 571 Players

2008 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza event No. 1The Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza tournament series kicked off today with event No. 1, a $330 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament. The prize pool amounts to more than $165,000 from the 571 entrants, 111 of which were alternates.

A few pros included in the field were Phil Gordon, Tony Korfman, Bryan Micon, Maureen Feduniak, and recent Women in Poker Hall of Fame inductee Barbara Enright. The tournament is scheduled to play down to a final table tonight and conclude tomorrow.

Event No. 2 begins at noon tomorrow and is a $500 buy-in pot-limit Omaha with rebuys tournament. The Venetian poker room is also awarding cash prizes to the top four best overall point winners. One half of a percentage of each event’s prize pool will be withheld for the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza’s most consistent players. Standings will be updated daily and posted in the poker room.
