Jaye Renehan Wins on First Stop of IPC Tour

County Meath Man Wins More Than €10,000 on First of Eight Stops on Irish Poker Championship Tour

Jaye Renehan Meath man Jaye Renehan won the €8,300 top prize at the first stop on the new PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship Tour in The Eglinton Casino, Galway, on Sunday, beating a 65-strong field in the €350 buy-in event. Renehan also won a seat worth €2,000 for the Irish Poker Championship televised main event, which takes place in January 2009 at the end of the eight-stop tour around Ireland.

Renehan beat Keith McInerney, from Clare, heads up. McInerney, who made the final table of the IPC in 2006, took down €5,300 for his second-place finish.

The PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship Tour moves on to Waterford on Aug. 30 and 31, with the top three players winning seats to the IPC main event, while the Dublin stop on Sept. 6 and 7 will see five seats awarded.

ParyPoker.com is adding €2,000 to each event, as well as €4,000 to the league leader board, which runs for the duration of the tour.

Details of the PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship 2009 will be published over the coming weeks, but already confirmed for the event are Scott Gray, Padraig Parkinson, Len Collin, Nicky Power, Ivan Donaghy, Rory Liffey, Mick McCloskey, Paul Lecky, 2008 IPC champion Jude Ainsworth, and Keith McFadden.
