Excalibur now features PokerTek PokerPro poker tablesLast week, Card Player reported on the Excalibur poker room’s plans to make the switch to electronic tables, and pending final regularity inspection and approval, the new room will officially open on Friday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m.

The poker room closed its doors late Sunday night to begin reconstruction and preparation for the 12 new PokerPro tables to be installed. Excalibur is the first casino in Nevada to host automated poker tables, and the room will serve as the official trial site for PokerPro in the state.

PokerPro is made by PokerTek, the leading manufacturer of automated tables. To get started, players are required to set up a PokerPro account at the cashier’s station and to make a deposit. Players will receive an account card, and every time a player leaves a game, the money is deposited in the account. Cashouts are also made at the cashier station.

PokerPro tables are offered on cruise ships and in seven U.S. states, including California, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, Indiana, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The tables are also in Canada, Europe, South Africa, Japan, and Australia. For more information on PokerPro tables, visit the PokerTek website.

Card Player TV plans to visit the room next week, so stay tuned for a video from the new Excalibur poker room.
