Multiple online movie sources report that Warner Brothers has purchased the movie rights to Nolan Dalla and Peter Alson's book,
One of a Kind. The story chronicles the life of poker legend Stuey "The Kid" Ungar, from his childhood years in Brooklyn, to his untimely death amid the glitz and glam of Las Vegas.
Graham King, producer of the biopics: Ali, and the Academy Award nominated
The Aviator is set to produce. No talent has been attached to this point.
A low budget film on Ungar's life entitled
High Roller received direct to DVD release earlier in the year. The film starred Michael Imperioli, of HBO's
The Sopranos, as Stuey.
