L.A. Poker Classic -- Preliminary Update Part II

The First Rebuy Event Draws a Star-Studded Field

The second week of preliminary events at Commerce Casino for the L.A. Poker Classic was highlighted by a $300 no-limit hold’em rebuy event. The tournament drew 623 entrants who purchased 933 rebuys and 356 add-ons. The first-place prize in this event was the largest of the week at $140,467 and it went to Jake Solis. Other professionals who cashed at this solid final table included Michael Kamran (second place), Joe Pelton (third place), and Kevin Song (seventh place). This was the second final table of the week for Song, who also finished in fourth place in event No. 8 ($300 limit hold’em). Chris Bjorin also made his second final-table appearance for the tournament series after finishing in sixth place in event No. 6 ($300 Omaha eight-or-better) last week.
