Norwegian pro and European Poker Tour regular Johnny Lodden is now part of Team PokerStars Pro.
The signing comes just before the Norwegian Poker Championships, where Lodden will play as part of the team for the first time. His next appearances as a PokerStars Pro will come in April at the EPT San Remo, and the grand finale in Monte Carlo.
Lodden has only been on the scene for a relatively short period of time, but in that time he has made his mark on international soil. At just 18 years of age he was rated as one of the top online poker players in the world, and when he finally took a dive into the live arena, a similar impression was made there.
He took down the 2004 St Maarten Open, and after went on to cash a total of seven times on the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour. He then turned his sights on the World Series of Poker Europe main event last year, finishing in, the very impressive, 11th place.
Thomas Udness, Marketing Manager for PokerStars.com in Norway, said, “This signing is fantastic for PokerStars.com, Johnny Lodden and the Norwegian Poker community. Since his breakthrough in 2004 Johnny has played on a really high level, and deserves the title as the first Norwegian Team PokerStars Pro.”
Lodden becomes part of the team as its first Norwegian player not long after being awarded the title of Norway’s best poker player.
