Satellites are underway for the the 2009 Ladbrokes.com Irish Poker Festival which will take place at the INEC, Killarney, Ireland from Oct. 2-4.

Players can qualify for as little as €3 until September 20 and flights, according to a Ladbrokes statement, can be purchased for as little as €3.

Kate McLennan, head of Ladbrokes Poker said, “Our festival is firmly established as one of the highlights on the European poker circuit. I think with the economy being what it is our players will see this event for what it is, an affordable chance to get away, play in a great tournament and experience the fabulous hospitality of Team Ladbrokes and Ireland.”

The $3 daily feeder satellites run throughout the day from Monday to Friday with the €20 + €2 daily final each day at 8:30 BST feeding into the weekly final on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. with a direct buy in of €100 + €10.

Players can also avail of the €950 direct buy in package which gives them the three nights bed and breakfast at the Gleaneagle Hotel plus the main event buy in.

The festival will see two side events alongside the €250,000 guaranteed main event which begins on Oct. 2. There will also be a super satellite to the main event the day before kick off, for any last minute hopefuls wishing to take part.

Last year, the main event saw 832 entrants, which created a prize pool of €400,000 including a first place prize of €100,000. This made it the largest ever European ranking event.

Although this year the guaranteed prize pool has been set at €250,000, a repeat of last year’s numbers and success is expected.

Players can also avail of the Ladbrokes hospitality facilities at the event, which include a games room with pool and darts.
