The £1,000 buy in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Cardiff main event is underway at the G Casino in the Welsh capital. The festival returns to Cardiff after a one year absence and is the seventh leg of this season’s GUKPT.
Michael Greco won the main event in 2007 when it last hit Wales but early indications are that the turn out will not match the 314 players of that year with only 45 players taking their seats at the beginning of play on day 1A.
Alternates will be accepted for the first two levels and a much bigger contingent is likely tomorrow although the start of the European Poker Tour Barcelona could continue to hamper numbers for the event.
