Karl Mahrenholz topped the 120 strong field at Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Cardiff at the weekend taking down £38,700 in the £1,000 buy in event.
His victory follows a runner up finish to fellow Hitsquad member Praz Bansi at GUKPT Bolton in 2007.
Numbers were significantly down from when Michael Greco won the event the last time it stopped off in Wales but a strong final table emerged and the final payouts were:

The next stop on the tour is G Casino, Isle of Thanet from Oct. 12 to 18.
