Knock-outs were fast and relentless on day 3 of the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Vilamoura main event. A remaining field of 69 quickly became 24, bursting the bubble without delay or hesitancy along the way. Four Team PokerStars Pro members, Ruben Visser, Jude Ainsworth [pictured right], Johannes Strassmann, and Jan Heitmann made the money — although Visser and Ainsworth have yet to find out just how much money they will be taking home.
Going into the day, the two chip leaders were Jeff Sarwer and Anthony Lellouche. Coming out of the day, they remained on top but switched places so that Lellouche was in first place with Sarwer close behind him.
Starting the day low in chips, Andy Black and Alexander Kravchenko didn’t last very long with Kravchenko taking the “honour” of being the first bust of the day due to a run-in with Brit Ross Boatman. Irishman Black didn’t hang around much longer after him.
Daniel Drescher was also among the pre-money bubble casualties. He moved all in for 17,700 and Portuguese champ Joao Barbosa made the call from the big blind. Drescher showed A

while Barbosa flipped over Q
10. The board brought a 10 and it was all over for Drescher.
Jan Heitmann took a healthy pot when he knocked out Dutchman Rolf Slotboom [pictured left]. Slotboom bet 7,000 from the cut-off and Heitmann raised it to 25,000 from the big blind. Slotboom then reraised to 69,000 and Heitmann moved all-in. Slotboom thought about it for a few moments and said, “Kings are winning. Mind you, queens are winning too.” He then called and flipped over pocket jacks, but to his despair Heitmann tabled pocket aces and they stayed ahead.
The bubble came and went quickly, claiming Sergey Lebedev as its unfortunate victim. The event hit its target of 24 players within six hours of play, and among those who cashed were Jan Heitmann in 27th place and Tobias Reinkemeier in 32nd place, both taking home €8,589; Ross Boatman in 35th (€8,121), Martin Wendt in 38th (€8,121), Jamel Maistriaux in 39th (€8,121), Johan Van Til in 42nd (€7,652), and Johannes Strassmann in 46th place (€7,652).
Meanwhile, new Team PokerStars Pro member Rino Mathis took down the €1,000 pot-limit Omaha side event for a top prize of €15,932.

The above players plus 14 others are the last standing from an original field of 322. They are fighting for the best possible share of the €1,561,700 ($2,319,434) prize pool – the €404,793 ($601,171) top prize.
