It’s been a pretty good week for Eric Baldwin (pictured right), but then again he has had a pretty good year as well. Just days after he clinched the 2009 Card Player Player of the Year award, Baldwin has signed a sponsorship deal with Ultimate Bet. Baldwin will become a member of Team UB, joining poker professionals such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.
“I’m flattered to have been offered a deal and I’m really looking forward to all of the opportunities that it’s going to present me,” said Baldwin.
Baldwin won the 2009 POY award with an impressive performance that saw him rack up 6,994 points. Baldwin made an astounding 17 final tables during the year and he won four poker tournaments in 2009, including his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet in event No. 34 ($1,500 no-limit hold’em).
Baldwin is no stranger to being a member of a team. He played right field for his college baseball team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and he looks forward to having some of the top poker professionals on his team moving forward.
“It’s awesome to be a part of Team UB. Every player has different styles and different outlooks. It’s going to be great to be in contact with such great players and people, and we’re going to make each other better. We’re also going to work to improve the brand and help the site grow and be the best that it can be,” said Baldwin.
