PCA High Roller Championship -- Day 2Dario Minieri Leads Remaining 24 Players |
|
Coming into day 2 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller Championship, Dario Minieri (pictured left) was listed as the overall chip leader, just a chip or two ahead of another big stack in Lex Veldhuis. But when the players returned Tuesday afternoon to continue play, Veldhuis discovered that he had miscounted his chips and, in fact, was the overnight chip leader.
Minieri, not one to be denied, made sure he finished day 2 with the true chip lead, removing all doubt as he busted Veldhuis to close the day and move to the top of the leader board with 430,700.
Finishing the day in second place is Dutch pro Michiel Brummelhuis, who used relentless pressure, especially against WSOP ladies-event winner Lisa Hamilton, to build his stack to the 403,800 mark. Rounding out the top three is Vivek Rajkumar, (pictured right), who committed several bustouts on the day, including one where he came from behind to send Sami “LarzLuzak” Kelopuro to the rail. Rajkumar takes 301,700 into day 3. You can read all of the day’s action with the Card Player live updates page.
The final 24 players will return at noon on Wednesday to battle down to the final table of eight. Along the way, they’ll encounter the money bubble, with only two tables getting paid. The eventual winner will take home $576,240, with the minimum payout set at $41,160. Take a look at all of the payouts on the Card Player event info page.
