This Week in Poker
Pilgrim Jumps from Seventh Place up to Third Place
No player has started out the year playing more consistent poker than Dwyte Pilgrim. He now has made five final tables in the first two months of the year and has won three poker tournaments. He has earned $202,863 in prize money, building his Card Player Player of the Year point total up to 2,248. He now sits in third place, just eight points ahead of Mike McDonald (fourth place) and 252 points behind Tyler Reiman (second place).
Pilgrim’s most recent POY score came this past week when he won a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event at the Mega Stack Challenge at Foxwoods Casino. Pilgrim topped a field of 224 players to win $50,145 and 528 points. Five days prior to that, Pilgrim made his fourth World Series of Poker Circuit final table at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica and cashed in sixth place to win $26,985 and 160 points.
