Keith FerreraThough the Wynn Poker Classic Championship may have been flying under the radar a bit this month, there’s no denying that the $5,000 main event is a success after drawing a strong field of 242 players.

Last year’s champion, Keith “DaMurdera” Ferrera (pictured left), spent most of the day on the featured stage overlooking the rest of the tournament room. Though he successfully took down event no. 5 of the series, Ferrera is looking for more with another trip to the final table. He finished the day with 66,525, good for 26th place overall.

The players began the day with 25,000 in chips and played seven 90-minute levels before quitting for the night. After two levels of registration had completed, the final prize pool of $1,173,700 was announced to the players, one of whom will take home the $363,844 first-place prize.
