The €3,200 + €300 buy-in PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Open 2010 kicks off today at 3.30 p.m. (local time) at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, and will play out over Easter weekend, finishing on Apr. 5.
Hundreds of players have made the trip to the Irish venue, including familiar names previously confirmed such as Dan Harrington, Brian Townsend, Teddy Sheringham, Marc Goodwin, Dave Ulliott, Marty Smyth, Neil Channing, Jamie Gold, Tony Cascarino, and last year’s runner-up, Kara Scott.
Current champion Christer Johannson has also been confirmed to play. The Swede beat 700 opponents last year to take home the lion’s share of the €2.2 million prize pool.
