Allan BaekkeDay 4 at the PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo €5,000 no-limit hold’em main event saw a familiar chip leader take charge on the shores of the Italian Rivera. As he had in the Austrian Alps in March, EPT Snowfest champion Allan Baekke (pictured left) built a large chip stack during the day and he ended the night with a large lead worth 3,483,000. His next-closest competitor is almost a million in chips behind, and that player is Dermot Blain (2,568,000).

Every player in the top 10 holds close to 2 million, so we should see some deep-stacked poker between the top competitors tomorrow. Players who held strong during the course of day 4 include Jakob Karlsson, who hovered around 1.8 million, and Russian player Dmitry Stelmark, who charged up to third place with 2,284,000. Other notables remaining include Liv Boeree with 1,337,000 and Claudio Rinaldi, who holds 547,000.

All of these players will return at noon local time on Tuesday, April 20 to play down to the final table of eight on day 5 of the tournament, and you can follow along with all of the action on the PokerStars blog feed. Starting tomorrow you can also watch all of the action from San Remo on the EPT Live video feed. Be sure to check back at CardPlayer.com tomorrow night for another summary of the action.
