The field played down to the final table of eight during day 5 at the PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo €5,000 no-limit hold’em main event. It took more than 12 hours to decide the final table, thanks to a stubborn battle for places 11-9 during the final stages of the night.
The chip leader heading into the final day is Jakob Carlsson with 13,525,000. His stack grew to hold a third of the chips in play when he busted Claudio Rinaldi on the final hand of the night. Rinaldi moved all in with A-Q and Carlsson made the call with pocket fours. He won the race and Rinaldi fell just short of the final table. Carlsson will be joined by a final-table headliner that will be looking to win her first EPT title. Liv Boeree (pictured right) enters the final day with 3,440,000, in fifth chip-position.
A few other professionals that survived to day 5 will be notably absent from the final table tomorrow. Allan Baekke was the chip leader at the start of play, but his day went poorly and he busted in 12th place (read more below). Dermot Blain will also be watching the final-table action from the rail. He busted a out a little bit before Baekke in 15th place.

The Fall of Allan Baekke
Allan Baekke came into the play down day at San Remo with the chip lead and the EPT Snowfest champion looked like a good bet to make his second EPT final table of the season. The day didn’t go as planned for the Danish player and he busted in 12th place. Here is a look at the hands that led to his exit.
Baekke bet 175,000 preflop and Claudio Piceci raised to 450,000. Baekke reraised all in and Piceci made the all-in call. Baekke was off to the races with pocket fives against the A-K of Piceci. The board ran out J-9-A-10-3 and Piceci doubled up. This left Baekke with a few hundred thousand when the blinds were 40,000-80,000 with a 5,000 ante.
He quickly moved all in and survived one hand that resulted in a chopped pot before moving all in again preflop. He was committed for his final 245,000 and both Ramon Cserei and Alexey Rybin made the call. The flop was dealt Q

and Cserei checked. Rbin bet and Cserei mucked.
Baekke then flipped over Q

and Rybin showed down pocket twos for a set. The ruen and river brought the 9 and the 5 and Baekke was eliminated in 12th place. He took home €50,000 in prize money.
