There were 18 players remaining when action began on day 5 of the World Poker Tour Championship at Bellagio. By the end of the night a final table of 10 was set and they will return tomorrow at noon PDT to play down to the television final table of six. Leading the way is John O’Shea (pictured right) with 3,174,000. Many huge names are still left in play, including Phil Hellmuth and Scotty Nguyen.
The day finished in less than five hours and there were a few surprising developments (like day 4 chip leader Faraz Jaka falling in 14th place) and some that were not so surprising (like Tony Cousineau busting out on the first hand of play after limping into the money with three big blinds). After limping into the money at the end of day 4, Tony Cousineau moved his short stack of 57,000 all in from the cutoff on the very first hand of the day, and Nikolay Evdakov reraised to 107,000 from the small blind. Everyone else mucked and the two players turned over their cards:

Evdakov won the hand with a pair of aces and he grew his stack to 1,490,000. Cousineau was eliminated in 18th place and he will take home $47,033 in prize money.
Matt Stout Eliminated in 17th Place ($47,033)
Matt Stout moved all in preflop for 280,000 from the cutoff and David Williams made the call from the big blind. Their cards:

Williams won the hand and Stout was eliminated in 17th place. He took home $47,033 in prize money.
Josh Arieh Eliminated in 16th Place ($47,033)!
Josh Arieh moved all in under the gun for 240,000 preflop and Faraz Jaka made the call from middle position. Their cards:

Jaka won the hand with kings up and Arieh was eliminated from the tournament in 16th place. He was awarded $47,033 in prize money.
Robert Cooper Eliminated in 15th Place ($51,736)
Faraz Jaka raised to 50,000 from middle position preflop and Robert Cooper made the call from the small blind. The flop was dealt K 8 2 and Cooper checked. Jaka bet 70,000 and Cooper check-raised to 215,000.
The turn delivered the A and Cooper moved all in Jaka made the call and they flipped over their cards:

Faraz Jaka Eliminated in 14th Place ($51,736)
Faraz Jaka entered the day with the chip lead, but in a surprising turn of events he was eliminated just a short time ago. Here is a look at his fall from grace, which took place in three parts.
Part I:
Billy Baxter raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Jaka made the call from the button. Nikolay Evdakov also made the call from the big blind and the flop was dealt A A 4. Evdakov checked, Baxter bet 80,000, and Jaka raised to 220,000. Evdakov mucked and Baxter made the call. Both players checked the Q on the turn and the J on the river. Baxter turned over A 2 and Jaka mucked. Baxter held 2.4 million after the hand and Jaka dropped to 2.5 million.
Part II:
A few hands later Scotty Nguyen limed under the gun and Baxter raised to 80,000 from early position. Jaka made the call from middle position and Nguyen mucked. The flop fell Q 8 7 and Baxter checked. Jaka bet 120,000 and Baxter made the call. Both players checked the J on the turn and the river brought the K. Baxter bet 500,000 and Jaka made the call. Baxter revealed A A. Jaka mucked and Baxter grew his stack to 3.2 million. Jaka fell to 1.8 million.
Part III:
Jaka raised to 70,000 under the gun and David Williams made the call from the cutoff. The flop was dealt A 10 9 and Jaka bet 130,000. Williams made the call and the turn fell J. Jaka checked, Williams bet 300,000, and Jaka made the call. The river was dealt 7 and Jaka checked. Williams moved all in for 2 million and Jaka made the call. He turned over pocket aces and Williams showed down K Q. Williams won the hand and he took the chip lead with 4.4 million. Jaka was eliminated in 14th place and he took home $51,736 in prize money.
J.J. Liu Eliminated in 13th Place ($51,439)
J.J. Liu moved all in on the button preflop for 213,000 and David Benyamine thought for a moment before making the call. Their cards:
