Microgaming upcoming launch of its online poker network in the soon-to-be-liberalised French market moved a step closer over the last few days with the announcement of applications for 4 operator licences.
Today Microgaming said it had applied for a licence on behalf of an unnamed French land-based casino group while last week it applied for three licences for operators, two of which fell under its recently announced joint venture with 888.com.
Gigi Levy of 888.com said of these applications, “The submission of these applications marks a step towards our launch in one of the strategically important European markets. We look forward to developing the synergies of Microgaming’s brand presence and 888’s premium offering.”
